418th Night Fighter Squadron
The 418th Night Fighter Squadron (NFS), known as the "Lone Wolf" Squadron, was a premier Pacific Theater unit in WWII (1943-1947), providing critical night air defense for the Fifth Air Force using P-70s, P-38s, B-25s, and P-61 Black Widows. It was the first radar-equipped squadron deployed to the Pacific, conducting interceptions, intruder missions, and shipping strikes in New Guinea and the Philippines.
