782nd Bomb Squadron


The 782nd Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) was activated in 1943, serving in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations (MTO) as a Consolidated B-24 Liberator unit during World War II. Part of the 465th Bombardment Group, it flew strategic bombing missions against Germany, earning two Distinguished Unit Citations before transporting personnel home and inactivating post-V-E Day.
