332nd Bomb Squadron

The 332nd Bomb Squadron in WWII was part of the segregated U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) training under the 477th Bombardment Group, composed of African American airmen, often associated with the famous Tuskegee Airmen. While the 332nd Fighter Group (with squadrons like the 99th, 100th, 301st, 302nd) became famous for bomber escort, the 332nd Bomb Squadron (part of the 477th BG with squadrons like the 616th, 617th) trained on B-25s and B-26s but never saw combat overseas before the war ended, facing significant racial discrimination in the U.S..
